43 Reasons Why You Need To Hire a Stylist

I could sit here and give you a million reasons why I find styling valuable, but I think we would all agree that I have some biases. Yes, styling is my work, my business, and my livelihood, but I’ve witnessed the result of style transformations and the way it has changed and improved the lives of my clients. There is so much shame attached to fashion, and so often new client’s express their embarrassment or apologize for their fashion neglect. “I just can’t find the time”… “It’s not a priority in my life right now”…, “I don’t know how to dress myself…”, “I feel ugly”… “I don’t know where to begin”…. “I’m overwhelmed”…These are real issues! These feelings affect the way you present yourself to the world, to your co-workers, to your family and friends. If you feel insecure, you live insecurely. If you can’t confidently dress, you can’t confidently live. You’ll live your life hiding and hurting and grasping for straws, and ultimately feeling disappointed in your wardrobe and LOST.

I receive an email whenever a prospective client fills out and submits a form on my contact page. This shows their interest, and I get to see answers to questions like, ‘What inspired you to reach out to Melissa de Leon?’ Somehow last week I found myself looking through the responses to this question, and realizing that these answers needed to be shared.

I spend a good amount of time unpacking the data that’s shared with me in these forms. The answers are revealing, and I realize how much strength and vulnerability it took to admit some of the very raw, private information that I am privy to. Perhaps you’ve ventured here because you’re unhappy with your image. Maybe you’re asking yourself if hiring a stylist is the next step you need to take. So, I wanted to share the reasons why other women have found themselves here filling out my contact form. I know you can relate to at least three of these responses, and I hope that encourages you that you’re in the right place.

So why am I sharing these problems instead of sharing the raving reviews? I think knowing where these women started is what’s important. I think it’s important to know that there are women who have gone through this process who once felt the same way you do now. Without these real problems, we couldn’t get to real solutions. I see these comments and I know how far these women have come since they first reached out to me. Some have gotten married, some received promotions, some risked it all and went for their dream, some lost the weight. All of them have emerged from this process stronger, more confident, and ultimately, more fashionable. Like these clients, I hope I’m able to connect you with your truest, most powerful style.

So, here is a list of 43 REAL reasons why you should take the plunge and hire a stylist — as told by my prospective, previous and current clients.
